It’s far from being easy. With
literally hundreds of TV ads promoting junk food and poor diet
choices, and the incredible amount of peer pressure our kids have to
deal with today, it’s sometimes next to impossible to get them to
consider healthier choices.
Then parents also have to deal with
the vending machines that are becoming so popular in our schools
today; the ones I have seen are far from being stocked with anything
close to being nutritionally fortified.
One thing that really bothers me is
the overwhelming number of kids being put on Ritalin or similar
drugs. There are a many resources for parents to consider when
helping their AD/HD child. This list is developed, in part, as a
response to questions generated by parents who have attended past
AD/HD seminars.
I personally do not believe the
resources listed are totally complete, and will most likely expand
over time. It is my hope that through any of the resources provided,
